Abstract:
Audio fingerprinting tries to solve the following problem: given a noisy audio query, try to find a match in a database of audio. You may have seen this technology in smartphone applications like Shazam, which allows you to record a short sample of music and identifies the song. In this talk I will explain what the current state-of-the-art is in audio fingerprinting technology and suggest a few directions of future research.
