Welcome to the first edition of Throwback Thursday, ICSI Edition. Over the coming weeks, we'll be posting pictures from our archives each Thursday. We start it off with a photo taken in our early years from the roof of our building at 1947 Center in Berkeley:

1947 Center wasn't ICSI's first home. Originally operating out of Evans Hall on the UC Berkeley campus, and then briefly out of a building on University Avenue, the Institute moved into its current home at 1947 Center Street in downtown Berkeley, one and a half blocks from the UC Berkeley campus, in early 1988. This photo shows the view from ICSI's seventh floor roof, facing west.
