Riley John Murray
Riley is a postdoctoral scholar at UC Berkeley and Principal Investigator at the International Computer Science Institute, where he is leading an effort to develop standard libraries for randomized numerical linear algebra. He holds a Ph.D. in Computing and Mathematical Sciences from Caltech and won the 2021 Amori Doctoral Prize for his thesis work on polynomial optimization. In his spare time, Riley is one of four project maintainers of CVXPY – a convex optimization modeling package that has been formally designated as “critical” to the Python ecosystem by the Python Packaging Authority.
