Sean Ness is a seasoned professional with over 18 years of invaluable experience in the non-profit research sector. Prior to joining International Computer Science Institute (ICSI), he played a pivotal role at the Institute for the Future (IFTF), a foresight research institute located in Palo Alto, California. His extensive background in strategic planning, project management, and partnership development made him a natural choice to lead ICSI's ambitious initiatives.

Before his tenure at IFTF, Sean contributed significantly to the dynamic technology landscape by working with various technology startups in both the vibrant markets of Boston and San Francisco. In 2006, he co-founded the STIRR Network, a pioneering group that became a driving force behind early-stage entrepreneurial activity in Silicon Valley and beyond. His entrepreneurial spirit and innovative thinking have been instrumental in shaping the business landscape of the region.

As the Chief of Staff and Head of Strategic Projects at ICSI, Sean brings his wealth of experience, innovative thinking, and strategic vision to the table. He plays a pivotal role in coordinating the efforts of the GoForward Task Force, fostering the growth of the ICSI alumni network, improving internal and external communication, and proactively addressing challenges. Furthermore, in his role as the lead for strategic partnerships, Sean is catalyzing and strengthening collaborations with UCB institutes, Lawrence Berkeley National Lab, industry partners, foundations, and foreign government delegations.
