Mohammad Tahaei

Mohammad is a Principal Investigator at ICSI and a Research Lead at eBay, with a focus on responsible AI and human-centered privacy and security. His approach blends creativity, rigor, and inclusivity, influenced by his software engineering background, Ph.D. in computer science from the University of Edinburgh, and immigrant experience. Prior to joining ICSI, he played a key role in a pioneering responsible AI team at Bell Labs, where he contributed to shaping the company’s AI products and policies, ensuring their adherence to ethical standards through research and advocacy for responsible choices.

Since 2019, Mohammad has co-authored over 20 research papers in collaboration with 50+ experts from both industry and academia, and received a best research award from ACM. He also actively participates in premier AI and human-computer interaction conferences, serving as a committee member, reviewer, and workshop organizer.
