Wolfgang Wahlster Honored with 2016 ICMI Sustained Accomplishment Award
Professor Wolfgang Wahlster is the recipient of the ICMI Sustained Accomplishment Award, and will deliver a keynote at ICMI 2016. This prestigious award is given to a senior scientist who has made innovative, long-lasting, and influential contributions to defining the field of multimodal/multimedia interaction, interfaces, and system development. Wolfgang Wahlster's contributions on multimodal architecture and practical multimodal systems are visionary and influenced many follow-up projects. Previous recipients are Sharon Oviatt and Eric Horvitz.
Professor Wahlster will deliver a keynote after the award ceremony entitled "Help me if you can: Towards Multiadaptive Interaction Platforms" on November 14, 2016 in Tokyo at the 18th ACM International Conference on Multimodal Interaction. Wahlster is the director and CEO of the German Research Center for Artificial Intelligence (DFKI GmbH) and a professor of computer science at Saarland University. He is also a long time member of ICSI's Board of Trustees.
