Schedule:
3:00 p.m. Welcome
3:15 p.m. Film: "Terms and Conditions May Apply"
A documentary that exposes what corporations and governments learn about people through Internet and cell phone usage, and what can be done about it ... if anything. View the trailer on IMDb.
4:45 p.m. Discussion with ICSI privacy researchers and Teaching Privacy team members
The afternoon is hosted by the Teaching Privacy Project, a collaboration between ICSI and UC Berkeley that explores online privacy. The project works to empower K-12 students and college undergrads in making informed choices about privacy by building a set of educational tools and hands-on exercises to help teachers demonstrate demonstrate what happens to personal information on the Internet--and what the effects of sharing information can be.
